FNC, Russia's State Duma discuss parliamentary cooperation

DUBAI, 9th December, 2024 (WAM) -- Members of the Financial, Economic and Industrial Affairs Committee of the Federal National Council (FNC), led by Khalid Omar Al Kharji, discussed with Andrei Makarov, Chairman of the Committee on Budget and Taxes of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, ways to enhance parliamentary cooperation between the two councils.

The meeting, held today at FNC's headquarters in Dubai, discussed bilateral ties across the economic, financial and investment sectors, and reviewed parliamentary models of the two councils, with regard to discussing draft laws and topics related to financial and economic affairs, and the committees’ specialities, role, activities and work mechanisms during the preparation of their reports that are discussed in the sessions.

Al Kharji stressed the depth of parliamentary cooperation between the Federal National Council and the Russian Federal Assembly, with its two chambers, the Duma and the Federation Council, and the importance of continuing the exchange of expertise and visits between the two sides.

The meeting was attended by several FNC members.
