Caucasus Investment Forum begins in Russia
GROZNY, 16th July, 2024 (WAM) -- The Caucasus Investment Forum commenced in Grozny, at both the residence of the head of the Chechen Republic and the Stroykar Pavilion (EXPO) exhibition centre, with over 2,000 guests from 33 countries participating in the forum, where more than 70 agreements are expected to be signed.
The central event of the business programme, the plenary session, will focus on the theme “The Greater Caucasus: From Sea to Sea.” On July 15, government and business representatives discussed interregional cooperation and its impact on the economic growth of the North Caucasus.
The plenary session's theme is also the main theme of CIF-2024, with this year's concept being “Regional Development and Interregional Interaction.” The forum highlights key sectors of the regional economy, including infrastructure, the agro-industrial complex, tourism, and logistics. Additionally, participants will discuss important aspects of human capital development, such as career growth, youth communities, and entrepreneurship.
“In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation, the Caucasus Investment Forum is held in the interests of sustainable socio-economic development of the North Caucasus Federal District on an annual basis. Over the past few years, the region has demonstrated dynamics of indicators that significantly exceed previous years. Tourism, industry, and the agro-industrial complex are actively developing, and new segments that are attractive to investors are emerging. At the Caucasus Investment Forum, representatives of the federal government will assess the progress of the regions, determine the areas of the economy that show maximum growth, and outline immediate plans for the multilateral development of the entire district,” said Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, Executive Secretary of the CIF Organising Committee.
As part of the youth agenda of the KIF-2024, prospects for career growth and entrepreneurial activity in the region will be discussed, as well as issues of social adaptation and support for young professionals.
The first day of the Caucasus Investment Forum will end with the ceremony of presenting the First Investment Prize “Vershina”, which is awarded to significant investment projects, outstanding companies and individuals for their contribution to economic growth and the development of the investment potential of Russian regions. The KIF-2024 sports programme will open with spectacular fights of leading MMA fighters representing the subjects of the North Caucasus Federal District.
