Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with the UAE President
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev arrived in the United Arab Emirates to personally express his condolences to the newly elected President, Ruler of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, members of the ruling family and the people of the Emirates in connection with the death of the President of the country, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The leaders met at the Qasr Al Mushrif Palace in Abu Dhabi, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Akorda.
The head of state, on behalf of the people of Kazakhstan and on his own behalf, expressed condolences and noted the outstanding services of Sheikh Khalifa to the state.
“Many achievements of the Emirates, both domestically and internationally, are associated with his name. Under his wise leadership, the UAE has become a strong advocate for peace and stability in the Middle East, as well as a model of rapid economic growth and social development for the entire Arab world. Therefore, we perceive his death as a huge loss not only for the UAE, but for the entire world community,” Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.
The leader of Kazakhstan noted the significant contribution of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the development of Kazakh-Emirati relations.
During the meeting, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on his election as President of the UAE and expressed confidence that under his wise leadership the Emirates would continue to prosper.
In turn, the UAE President expressed gratitude to the leader of Kazakhstan for his visit and personal support at this difficult moment, and also warmly thanked for the fact that a street in the capital of Kazakhstan would be named after Sheikh Khalifa.
In conclusion, the Head of our State confirmed his invitation to the UAE President to visit Kazakhstan.
