Republic of Bashkortostan
The Republic is also known as Bashkiria in the Russian Federation, which is located in Eastern Europe. Bashkortostan has a population of about four million people who live on 143,600 square kilometres of land.
Bashkortosan is the most populous of Russia’s republics, with Ufa as its capital.
The region extends eastward from the rolling hills of the Bugulma-Belebey uplands in the west to the western slopes of the Southern Ural Mountains in the east.
Geography of Bashkortostan
This Republic is endowed with a plethora of natural features, including plains, hills, mountains, rivers, and a variety of other bodies of water. The majority of the noteworthy features are highlighted below.
Mount Yamantau is the highest mountain, with a peak elevation of 1638 meters above sea level. However, it is not the only mountain; Mount Maly Iremel and Bolshoy Iremel are also nearby.
Rivers and lakes The republic has over 13000 rivers dispersed throughout the country that provide access to the Black and Baltic seas. Belaya and Ufa rivers are two of the major rivers.
Basgkortostan is home to over 2700 lakes and reservoirs.
Bashkortostan is rich in woods with a third of the republic covered with the birch tree, conifers, lime oak and maple.
The Republic of Bashkortostan also has a rich share of natural resources making it one of the top in the whole of Russia.
They have an abundance of oil reserves, but that is not all. They also have the following:
- Ores of ferrous metal
- Ores of nonferrous metals such as tungsten and lead
- Rock crystals, fluorite, barite, silicates, silica, talcum, and iceland spar examples of nonmetallic ores.
- Malachite, jade, and granite are examples of precious and semi-precious stones.
With such a portfolio, the Russian Republic of Bashkortostan is essentially self-sufficient in terms of producing and supplying energy to its 4 million people.
Politics of Bashkortostan
The government is led by the head who is elected for a four-year term. The head resides in the government building known as the Bakishir White House.
There are 54 districts, 31 cities, 2 urban-like settlements, and 827 selsoviets in the republic. Within their respective areas, all administrative units have local governance.
The State Assembly-Kurultai evaluates and decides on any changes to the overall administrative and territorial structure.
Social constraints of Bashkortostan
The republic also has a thriving sports scene, with the Russian Premier League originating in Ufa. Hookey, volleyball, handball, and formula one are also available.
The education system is extremely advanced, with over 60 scientific organizations. They also have higher education facilities, giving the republic a place to get the best education for your children.
Their culture is dominant, as evidenced by a network of national theaters, museums, and several folk festivals. These are excellent tourist attractions, in addition to the rick natural parks, suntuaries, and features.
The Republic of Bashkorstan is self-sufficient, with excellent governance, abundant natural resources, and a diverse range of educational and cultural opportunities.
