Auto Draft The volume of non-commodity exports of Moscow to the UAE in 2021 increased seven times
Moscow increased its share among the constituent entities of the Russian Federation in terms of non-commodity non-energy exports to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in 2021. This was reported on the official portal of the mayor and the government of the capital.
According to the Federal Customs Service, the volume of transactions exceeded 34.5 billion rubles.
“Moscow’s non-commodity exports to the United Arab Emirates last year showed a seven-fold increase compared to 2020. Medicine and pharmaceuticals have become one of the most popular categories,” said Natalya Sergunina, Deputy Mayor of the capital.
The representative of the mayor’s office stressed that these categories provided about 15 billion rubles of the total imports. To a greater extent, Moscow supplied the UAE with vaccines and diagnostic reagents.
The Moscow Export Center (MEC) provides Moscow companies with access to foreign markets. Representatives of this organization conducted several business missions with partners from the United Arab Emirates, and also made it possible to negotiate with foreign clients at Expo 2020 in Dubai.
Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Economic Policy and Property and Land Relations Vladimir Efimov added that the capital accounts for 26 percent of all-Russian non-resource non-energy exports. Companies have responded to the demand, which is caused by the development of industry in the UAE.
Exporters from Moscow can find partners in the local market thanks to the MEC’s free buyer matching service. Companies receive contacts of potential importers – earlier they conduct preliminary negotiations with them. You can leave an application for the service on the website of the Moscow Export Center.
In April, it became known that Moscow enterprises would be able to place goods on the popular Chinese marketplace WeChat (which also combines the functions of a social network and a messenger). The Made in Moscow store will open on this site.
